I am specialized in what is now called Sitecore Commerce Server, but what started out as Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. In those days we made websites using classic ASP.
In 2002 I switched over from classic ASP to ASP.NET together with the introduction of Commerce Server 2002, which at the time was called the first .NET server product (which basically meant it had an API which accessible from .NET).
I have been working for the last 14 years on e-commerce sites (B2C and B2B) based on Commerce Server, in different roles: consultant, functional designer, architect and (lead) developer and devops. In this period I have worked on many sizeable projects for retailers and have been supporting Microsoft and other partners on their Commerce Server projects.
Some of the highlights for me were working on one of the first large implementations of Commerce Server in The Netherlands for a retailer in furniture and implementing a new webshop platform for a retailer selling plants and bulbs over the Internet in Europe. That last site won the Thuiswinkel award in 2005 for best shop, awarded by a jury and regarded as one of the most important awards in B2C e-commerce in The Netherlands. I am really proud to have been a major part of that project.
I have been awarded the title Sitecore Commerce MVP for 2015.
