  • Program for the Dutch Sitecore User Group meeting at Virtual Affairs:

    17.30 - 18.30 Dinner

18.30 - 18.40 Opening by the Dutch Sitecore User Group and & the host Virtual Affairs

18:40 - 19:25 Refactoring your Helix solution to JSS - by Vitalii Tylyk (Virtual Affairs)

Based on the real project experience, I will cover steps and considerations needed to refactor an existing Sitecore solution (MVC/WebForms) to JSS: starting with code changes and ending with deployment process updates.

    19:25 - 19:35 Break

19:35 - 20:20 Sitecore and Solr in cloud mode - By Paul Dohmen (Cognizant)

Solr cloud mode is officially supported since Sitecore 9.02. More and more customers will want to implement it. In my talk, I am happy to share what is needed to get Sitecore 9.02 to work with Solr. I will talk about the advantages of Solr cloud mode. In addition, I will tell you about the experiences we had in setting it up for the first time. What do you need to know! What went well and not? Using Solr in Azure is not PAAS. It is a lot of work to set it up. In cooperation with my colleagues from Searchstax, we will show you how to set it up a Searchstax SAAS environment in 15 minutes including backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, 99% uptime and more. Cognizant has no commercial connection with Searchstax. I simply believe it is an option that can help a lot.

    20:20 - 20:30 Break

20:30 - 21:15 Sitecore Publishing Strategies - by Ivan Lieckens (Sitecore)

After reviewing several projects the last few months I came to the conclusion we should discuss the People and Process part with a touch of the Technology on what "Publishing" is inside of Sitecore, what it does and finally how you define a strategy that works. We'll take a 101 lesson after which I'll take the time to highlight some of the things to come and some things that seem to have gone under the radar for many. For this particular session I'd wish to reserve ample time for questions and start a discussion on something considered a sensitive subject by many. See you all at SUGNL in Amsterdam!

    21:15 – 22:00 Drinks
